Nasty stuff developing over the Kaweahs on the afternoon of our Whitney climb. Less than an hour later the whole region was hit hard with thunder and lightning. Thanks to a way early start we were no longer scrambling around at altitude, but sitting in our tents at Crabtree.

A row of attractive pinnacles, no doubt fun to scramble up, and, on the right, the massive hulk of Mt. Langley. The latter is supposedly the easiest 14000' peak in California.
Anyway, a beautiful unnamed lake at sunset, the scene of the last night of the trip.
