There and
Back Again
5.8,
6 pitches

Oak Creek Canyon, Red Rocks, Nevada

A route of not much esteem, There and Back Again proved nonetheless to be quite rewarding.

Here Sonja is negotiating the dicey slab leading up to the crux, an overhanging entry to a shallow dihedral.

The route goes up a non descript section of the huge bowl also containing the start of Black Orpheus.
The pitches are on the other hand rather distinct, each featuring a memorable crux ranging from the steep to the delicate. Here we are on the beautiful varnished wall of the 4th lead.

Up near the top are a series of overhanging corners blocking the exit into the Painted Bowl. These provide an airy
and exposed finish to an aggreable route.
