On this pic
of looking down from the third pitch, it is easily seen how
climbable the fine grained granite cracks are on this superb
route.
The down jacket is just for show, since we needed some product
shots for Tom's down gear company, Nunatak.

Tom
beginning the 6th pitch, which is yet another splendid affair
in a long row of memorable pitches.
Way up above us, on the headwall, one can make out an ominous
looking off width crack. This is Pete Doorish's original route.
We had learned, however, that a less intimidating 5.10 finger
crack shoots up just to the right, saving the effort of hauling
big cams all the way in here.. |
