The exposed headwall is the second to last step.On the left is the steep, foreboding and somewhat confusing looking South Face, home to a supposedly fantastic Becky Route. Or at least Fred thinks its good, according to his guide book. |

This is the view greeting you shortly after Apex Pass. Alpine scenery par excellence. After a day and a half of choking on dust deep in the woods, these last miles are just beautiful. Cathedral Peak is the obvious summit 3-4 miles distant. The trail skirts the base right to left and crosses over Cathedral Pass just left of the peak.
